about

Brand new demo. Rough mix.

lyrics

Last night I had a dream
That my friend Stacey moved to LA
and we were gonna play in a band.

And I didn't even have to ask.
She arrived and we moved to the task at hand.

We found a melody and a harmony.
We had a banjo and we had a mandolin.
With all our memories, there was a lot to say.
We booked a show on Friday
and all our friends were flying out to see us play.

In my dream, we both had tunnel vision.
There was no time for television.
There was barely time to eat.
We chose music always over sleep.

And we played old Rocksteady songs.
We wrote some new songs and sang those.

Why can't these dreams carry into day?
Instead, you're far away.
I want to stay asleep a little longer
so we can keep singing into this tape recorder.

You sing the melody, I'll try the harmony.
You play your banjo and I'll play my mandolin.
I'd be surprised if we ran out of things to say.
We've got a show on Friday
and all our friends are flying out to see us play.

Last night I had a dream
that my friend Stacey moved to LA
and we were gonna play in a band.
